Our Engineer in Residence role is an opportunity to work with us for a period of time, explore businesses that we might build together and see if Prufrock is the right place for you to try something big and new. We leverage the collective resources available at Prufrock across design, marketing, engineering, business development to test solutions and ultimately to bring a business to life.
About The Role - As the Engineer In Residence, you will own the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation to production, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable and scalable products. You will work closely with our product team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions, and you will have significant influence over our product direction and roadmap. You will also be responsible for building out the team and maintaining a strong engineering culture. You will ensure the team has the resources and support they need to be successful.
About You - You operate as a founder in all that you do and you are often the first to roll up your sleeves and get into the trenches to solve a problem. You’re deeply curious and love creating new things. You bring cross-functional expertise that enables you to execute quickly. You have a bias for action and a sense of ownership in your work. You’re driven by a desire to build a scalable business and eager to be a leader as well as a builder. You are a world-class communicator. You’re low ego with a high EQ. You build trust with team members, investors, and customers. You will have a focus on the customer built into your DNA and a drive to launch new features and service at a rate that keeps our business top of mind for customers. And you love the zero to one stage of company building - the fast pace, fast iteration of product development that only the best startups can do. You’ve scaled engineering teams previously. Plus points if you were a founding engineer or CTO for a previous startup. Plus points if you worked at Amazon.
